As painter I enjoy sharing my perspective of the world with everyone around me. With decades of painting experience and continually focusing on growth as an artist I have been fortunate to have developed the skills that allow my brushes to dance from pallet to canvas with great joy and ease. I paint freely with colors allowing complementary and accent to fall harmoniously with little concern for restrictions or by what may be expected in reality. I often find the opportunity for playful mischief where I guide the unsuspecting viewer through a path of light and color revealing hidden elements and moments in time.
As simplistic as it may sound there are also many hidden challenges in creating art. Painting is very much like playing a game of chess. With every move there are dangerous consequences and as subtle as they may appear, each brush stroke will determine the next and ultimately the final outcome of the painting. As a painter you must constantly be aware of not only of your next move but several moves ahead to avoid being cornered into a checkmate by a painting that takes control.
As a visual artist I paint what I know, familiarity allows greater freedom for creative flow. Often I do not seek out the subjects I enjoy painting the most, instead they present themselves to me crossing my path in some way or another Many times when my creative energy is at its highest I experience brief moments where my vision actually transforms what I see in front of me, moments where I see the world around me as colorful brushstrokes on canvas in those fleeting moments I am most inspired to paint and driven to share what I see with everyone around me.
